Meaning of 'Communication'
Communication is the process of exchange of ideas, views, facts,
feelings, etc., between or among people to create common
understanding.
First two elements in the process of communication are:
(i)
Sender: The person who conveys his thoughts or ideas to the
receiver.
(ii)
Message: It is the content of ideas, feelings, suggestions,
order etc. intended to be communicated.
Organisational barriers to communication:
(i)
Rigid Rules and regulations may delay communication.
(ii)
Status of the superior may not allow his subordinates to
express their feelings freely.
(iii)
Complexity in organization structure leads to delayed and
distorted communication.
(iv)
Lack of organizational facilities like frequent meetings,
suggestion box etc. may discourage free flow of communication.
