With the help of a circuit diagram, explain briefly how a p-n junction diode works as a half-wave rectifier.
Marking-scheme solution
Circuit Diagram of p-n junction diode as half wave rectifier Explanation of its Working

When voltage at A is positive, diode is forward biased and it conducts and when voltage at A is negative, diode is reverse biased and it does not conduct, so output is zero.
