Equity
§ It advocates that there should be no discrimination
against anyone on account of sex, religion, language,
caste, belief, nationality etc.
§ It emphasises kindliness and justice in the behaviour
of managers towards the workers to ensure loyalty and
devotion.
Initiative
§ Initiative means taking the first step with self-
motivation. Principle of initiative indicates that the
subordinates should be encouraged to develop and
carry out plans for improvements.
§ A good company should have an employee
suggestion system whereby suggestions which result
in substantial reduction in cost or time should be
rewarded.
Meeting changing environment requirements
Principles of management help the managers in meeting
changing environment requirements because they can be
modified according to the changes taking place in the
environment.
As management principles are flexible, they are able to
adapt to dynamic business environment.
(ii)
Management training, education and research
Principles of management are at the core of
management theory. As such these are used as a basis
for management training, education and research.
The principles provide the basic groundwork for the
development of management as a discipline.
Professional courses such as MBA
(Master of Business Administration), BBA
(Bachelor of Business Administration) also teach these principles as part of
their curriculum.
