Transgenic animals are those which have their DNA manipulated to possess and express a
foreign gene.
(ii)
First transgenic Cow – Rosie,
-Produced human protein enriched milk ($\displaystyle 2$⋅$\displaystyle 4$ g/litre) / cow milk containing human alpha
lactalbumin protein is nutritionally more balanced product for human babies than natural cow milk.
(i)
In EcoRI (comes from Escherichia coli RY13)
-E represent Genus Escherichia ,
-co represent species coli,
-R represent RY $\displaystyle 13$ strain,
-I represent order in which the enzyme were isolated from that strain of bacteria.
(ii)
Vector DNA and Foreign DNA are each cut by EcoRI at GAATTC, producing complementary sticky ends.
