In an n-type semiconductor electron-hole combination is a continuous process at room temperature. Yet the electron concentration is always greater than the hole concentration in it. Explain.
Marking-scheme solution
Explanation for higher electron concentration in n-type semiconductor in comparison to hole concentration In a doped semiconductor the total number of conduction electrons is due to the electrons contributed by donors and those generated intrinsically, while the total number of holes is only due to the holes from the intrinsic sources.
