A galvanometer of resistance G is converted into a voltmeter of range ( $\displaystyle 0-\mathrm{V}$ ) by connecting a resistor of $\displaystyle 250 \Omega$ with it. If resistor of $\displaystyle 250 \Omega$ is replaced by another resistor of $\displaystyle 900 \Omega$, its range becomes ($\displaystyle 0$-$\displaystyle 3$ V).
