Assertion (A) : A proton and an electron enter a uniform magnetic field $\displaystyle \overrightarrow{\mathrm{B}}$ with the same momentum $\displaystyle \overrightarrow{\mathrm{p}}$ such that $\displaystyle \overrightarrow{\mathrm{p}}$ is perpendicular to $\displaystyle \overrightarrow{\mathrm{B}}$. They describe circular paths of the same radius.
Reason (R) : In a magnetic field, orbital radius r is equal to $\displaystyle \frac{\mathrm{p}}{\mathrm{qB}}$.
Official answer
From CBSE’s own marking scheme for this paper.
(A)
Both Assertion (A) and Reason (R) are true and Reason (R) is the correct explanation of the Assertion (A).
