The given data indicates that China gained economic strength after the reforms initiated in late $\displaystyle 1970$’s. When many developed countries were finding it difficult to maintain a growth rate of even $\displaystyle 5$%, China was able to maintain near double-digit growth during the decade of 1980s. The growth rate of China has decelerated to $\displaystyle 6.8$% in $\displaystyle 2015$-$\displaystyle 17$ and further to $\displaystyle 3.0$% in 2022. Whereas; India had maintained a reasonable growth rate of $\displaystyle 5.7$% in the decade of $\displaystyle 1980$’s, it has shown remarkable progress by registering an annual growth of Gross Domestic Product of $\displaystyle 7.3$% and $\displaystyle 7.0$% respectively in $\displaystyle 2015$-$\displaystyle 17$ and 2022.
