Marking-scheme solution
The given data shows the sectoral contribution in Gross Value Added (GVA) of India and China. In China, due to topographic and climatic conditions, the cultivable area is relatively smaller to that of India. Hence, the contribution of the agricultural sector to the GVA in China is $\displaystyle 7$%, whereas in India it is more than double to that of China i.e. $\displaystyle 16$%.Owing to rapid industrialisation in China, the contribution of industries to GVA stands at $\displaystyle 41$% as against $\displaystyle 30$% in India. In both the countries, India and China, service sector contributes highest share of GVA at $\displaystyle 54$% and $\displaystyle 52$% respectively.
