The electron in hydrogen atom is revolving with the speed of $\displaystyle 2.2 \times 10^{6} \mathrm{~m} / \mathrm{s}$ in an orbit of radius $\displaystyle 0.53 \AA$. Calculate the initial frequency of light emitted by the electron using classical physics.
Marking-scheme solution
$\displaystyle \nu=\frac{v}{2 \pi r}$
$\displaystyle \nu=\frac{2.2 \times 10^{6}}{2 \times \pi \times 0.53 \times 10^{-10}}$
$\displaystyle \nu=6.6 \times 10^{15} \mathrm{~Hz}$
