• (a) (i) Making efficient use of resources
Controlling makes efficient use of resources by reducing
• wastage and spoilage.
Each activity is performed in accordance with predetermined
standards and norms which ensures that resources are used in the
most effective and efficient manner.
• (ii) Improving employee motivation
Controlling ensures that employees know well in advance what
they are expected to do and what are the standards of
• performance on the basis of which they will be appraised.
This motivates the employees and helps them to give better
performance.
Benefits of training to employees:

Improved skills and knowledge due to training lead to
better career of the individual.

Increased performance by the individual help him to
earn more.
(iii)
Training makes the employee more efficient to handle
machines and thus less prone to accidents.
