• Muscular layer -Myometrium
Glandular layer – Endometrium
• Function
Myometrium exhibits strong contractions during delivery of the baby.
Endometrium undergoes cyclical changes during menstrual cycle / helps in implantation of blastocyst /takes part in formation of placenta.

STI are not detected in time due to
-Absence or less significant symptoms in early stages of infection.
-Social stigma attached to STIs.

PID or Pelvic Inflammatory disease, abortions, ectopic pregnancy, still births, Infertility, cancer of reproductive tract.
