Solve the following system of equations algebraically : $\displaystyle 73 x-37 y=109$ \[37 x-73 y=1 \]
Marking-scheme solution
Adding and subtracting the given equations, we get
\[x-y=1 \quad \ldots \text { (i) }
\]
\[\text { and } x+y=3 \quad \ldots \text { (ii) }
\]
Solving (i) and (ii), we get
\[x=2, y=1
\]
