A business enterprise depends on the environment as a source of inputs or
resources and as an outlet for outputs, the enterprise designs those policies
that allow it to get the resources that it needs, so that it can convert those
resources into outputs that the environment desires. This can be done
better by understanding what the environment has to offer.
(ii)
Helps in coping with rapid changes
All sizes and all types of enterprises are facing increasingly dynamic
environment. In order to effectively cope with these significant changes,
managers must understand and examine the environment and develop
suitable courses of action.

Method study is a technique to find out one best way of doing the job.
Right from procurement of raw materials till the final product is
delivered to the customer, every activity is a part of method study.
Method study helps to minimise the cost of production and maximise
the quality and satisfaction of the customer.

Standardisation and simplification of work
Standardisation refers to the process of setting standards for every
business activity It can be standardisation of process, raw material,
time, product, machinery, methods or working conditions.
Simplification aims at eliminating unnecessary diversity of products
which will result in savings of cost of labour, machines and tools.
