Using the Formula tab and dialog box, write the formula to create 'I $\displaystyle 9$ function F on the given spreadsheet, where the total income minus expenses is $\displaystyle 20$% if it is more than $\displaystyle 50,000$ and $\displaystyle 10$% if it is less than ₹ $\displaystyle 50$,000. Also write the result statement.
Marking-scheme solution
• Suppose the income is shown in B2 then the syntax will be
=
IF (B2 > $\displaystyle 50,000$, $\displaystyle 20$%, $\displaystyle 10$%)
Steps to create ‘IF’ function using formula tab and dialogue box.
1. Select the cell where the function is to be introduced
2. Click the formula tab on the ribbon and then click logical option
3. State ‘IF Function’ which will provide function arguments dialogue box
4. Type an appropriate condition in logical_test box
5. In the value_if_true box type the required value if the logic condition is met.
6. In the value_if_false box type the value if the logical condition is not met. Then click OK
the answer for the condition will be displayed.
