\(\displaystyle \mathrm{Fe}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{3(\mathrm{~s})}+2 \mathrm{Al}(\mathrm{s}) \rightarrow 2 \mathrm{Fe}(\mathrm{l})+\mathrm{Al}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{3(\mathrm{~s})}+\) Heat
Because Al being more reactive than Fe, it displaces Fe in \(\displaystyle \mathrm{Fe}_{2} \mathrm{O}_{3}\)
This reaction is used to join railway tracks / cracked machine parts.
