How is the sex of a newborn individual determined in different species of animals? Give three examples to support your answer.

Three examples:
In some animals, the temperature at which the fertilized eggs are kept determines whether the animals developing in the eggs will be male or female.
In snails, individuals can change sex.
In human beings, the sex of the individual is genetically determined i.e. genes inherited from parents decide whether the child will be a boy or a girl.
