Solve the following system of linear equations $\displaystyle 7 x-2 y=5$ and $\displaystyle 8 x+7 y=15$ and verify your answer.
Marking-scheme solution
\[\begin{aligned}
& 7 x-2 y=5 \\
& 8 x+7 y=15
\end{aligned}
\]
Solving equation (i) and (ii), we get
\[x=1, y=1
\]
