The temperature of a metal strip having coefficient of linear expansion $\displaystyle \alpha$ is increased from $\displaystyle T_1$ to $\displaystyle T_2$ resulting in increase of its length by $\displaystyle \Delta L_1$. The temperature is further increased from $\displaystyle T_2$ to $\displaystyle T_3$ such that the increase in its length is $\displaystyle \Delta L_2$.Given $\displaystyle T_3+T_1=2 T_2$ and $\displaystyle T_2-T_1=\Delta T$, the value of $\displaystyle \Delta L_2$ is $\displaystyle \_\_\_\_$.
Official answer
From NTA’s final answer key for this paper.
