In finding the electric field using Gauss law the formula | E |=(q_enc)/(ε_0| A |) is applicable. In the formula ε_0 is permittivity of free space, A…
In finding the electric field using Gauss law the formula $\displaystyle |\overrightarrow{\mathrm{E}}|=\frac{\mathrm{q}_{\text {enc }}}{\epsilon_0|\mathrm{~A}|}$ is applicable. In the formula $\displaystyle \epsilon_0$ is permittivity of free space, A is the area of Gaussian surface and $\displaystyle \mathrm{q}_{\text {enc }}$ is charge enclosed by the Gaussian surface. This equation can be used in which of the following situation ?
Official answer
(3)
Only when the Gaussian surface is an equipotential surface and $\displaystyle |\vec{E}|$ is constant on the surface.
