A metal sample carrying a current along X-axis with density $\displaystyle \mathrm{J}_x$ is subjected to a magnetic field $\displaystyle \mathrm{B}_z$ (along $\displaystyle z$-axis). The electric field $\displaystyle \mathrm{E}_y$ developed along Y-axis is directly proportional to $\displaystyle \mathrm{J}_x$ as well as $\displaystyle \mathrm{B}_z$. The constant of proportionality has SI unit.
