Statement I : The correct order in terms of bond dissociation enthalpy is $\displaystyle \mathrm{Cl}_2>\mathrm{Br}_2>\mathrm{F}_2>\mathrm{I}_2$.
Statement II : The correct trend in the covalent character of the metal halides is $\displaystyle \left[\mathrm{SnCl}_4>\mathrm{SnCl}_2\right]$, $\displaystyle \left[\mathrm{PbCl}_4>\mathrm{PbCl}_2\right]$ and $\displaystyle \left[\mathrm{UF}_4>\mathrm{UF}_6\right]$.
