Statement I : Heating benzamide with bromine in an ethanolic solution of sodium hydroxide will give benzylamine.
Statement II : Nitration of aniline with $\displaystyle \mathrm{HNO}_3 / \mathrm{H}_2 \mathrm{SO}_4$ at $\displaystyle 288$ K produces $\displaystyle m$-nitroaniline in higher amount than $\displaystyle o$-nitroaniline (pH adjusted).
