Assertion (A) : Sucrose is a disaccharide and a non-reducing sugar.
Reason (R) : Sucrose involves glycosidic linkage between $\displaystyle \mathrm{C}_1$ of $\displaystyle \beta$-glucose and $\displaystyle \mathrm{C}_2$ of $\displaystyle \alpha$-fructose.
