When monochromatic light is incident on a surface separating two media, the refracted and reflected light both have the same frequency as the incident frequency but the wavelength of refracted light is different. Explain why.

Explaining the reason for Frequency of incident light is same as reflected and refracted light. $\displaystyle 1$ Wavelength of incident light is different than that of refracted light. $\displaystyle 1$
The frequency of light depends on the source and does not change when light passes through different media. i.e. frequency is the characteristic property of the source.
The wavelength depends on the speed of light in the medium. $\displaystyle (v=v \lambda)$
