(i) The Right to Education (RTE) Act, $\displaystyle 2009$ guarantees free and compulsory education up to the age of $\displaystyle 14$ years.It enhances access to education by ensuring that every child between $\displaystyle 6$ to $\displaystyle 14$ years can attend school without any financial burden. It also provides schooling facilities in neighbourhood areas, making education easily accessible. This helps include children from disadvantaged groups and ensures that all children complete elementary education.(ii) Increase in government spending on education has played an important role in India’s social and economic development. It has made education more accessible, especially for weaker sections, thus, promoting equality. Education has improved skills and knowledge, leading to better job opportunities and higher productivity. It has helped in improving the standard of living of the people and overall development of the country.
