Green Revolution in India led to remarkable increase in agricultural production and productivity through the use of HYV seeds, chemical fertilisers, pesticides, etc. As a result, dependence on food imports declined significantly. India also achieved food security by maintaining sufficient buffer stocks. Thus, the Green Revolution made India self-reliant with respect to food grains production.
