Define osmotic pressure. Why is measurement of osmotic pressure method preferred for the determination of molar masses of macromolecules such as proteins and polymers ?
Marking-scheme solution
The extra(excess) pressure applied on solution side to stop osmosis.
Because it is measured at room temperature/ molarity of the solution is used instead
of molality/its magnitude is large even for very dilute solutions.
