The cancer causing viruses called oncogenic viruses have genes called viral oncogenes which transform normal cell into cancerous cells.

• When the cells of a benign tumour acquire the property of metastasis under
certain conditions.
• These cells damage the surrounding normal cells of the body / They compete
with the normal cells and starve them of vital nutrients.
