Marking-scheme solution
Signals for parturition arise from fully developed foetus and placenta which induce mild uterine contractions, called foetal ejection reflex, this triggers release of oxytocin from maternal pituitary, which act on uterine muscle and causes stronger uterine contractions.
(b)
Menstrual cycle ceases / menopause occur around $\displaystyle 50$ years of age.
(ii)
During oogenesis Meiosis I and II are unequal divisions which form one large cell and a smaller polar body / The unequal cell formation will ensure that the large cell has more cytoplasm and more nutrient reserve for better survival of the zygote.
Meiosis I and II are equal divisions in spermatogenesis.
