Miraya Ltd. took over assets of ₹ $\displaystyle 70,00,000$ and liabilities of ₹ $\displaystyle 12,00,000$ of Vishal Ltd. for a purchase consideration of ₹ $\displaystyle 64,00$,000. The payment of purchase consideration was made by issue of $\displaystyle 50,000$, $\displaystyle 11$% debentures of ₹ $\displaystyle 100$ each at a premium of $\displaystyle 20$% to Vishal Ltd. and the balance through a cheque. Pass necessary journal entries for the above transactions in the books of Miraya Ltd.ORDelta Ltd. invited applications for issuing $\displaystyle 30,000$, $\displaystyle 9$% debentures of ₹ $\displaystyle 100$ each at a premium of ₹ $\displaystyle 30$ per debenture. The full amount was payable on application. Applications were received for $\displaystyle 40,000$ debentures. Applications for $\displaystyle 2,000$ debentures were rejected and the application money was refunded. Debentures were allotted to the remaining applicants on pro rata basis.
