'Different people have different notions of development.' Explain the statement with examples.

(i) Different people have different notion of development because their life situations are different.

(ii) The development for one may not be development for the other.

(iii) Some are rich and some are poor. They think about things which are important for them. Poor people will think about basic needs such as food, clothing etc.

(iv) Developmental goal for a prosperous farmer may be assured high family income through higher support prices, whereas the developmental goal for a poor farmer who depends on rain for growing crops, irrigation facilities may be more important.
