"Earth wire is a safety measure in domestic electric circuits." Justify this statement explaining its role in case of accidental leakage of electric appliances.

Earthing is used as a safety measure, especially for those appliances that have a metallic body which is connected to the earth wire.
It provides a low-resistance conducting path for the current.
