On the way to town- Valli- excited, wonderstruck at sights (young cow running
in the middle of the road).
On the way back- Valli saw the same cow lying dead by the side of the
road.
She was overcome with sadness, frightened.
Memory of dead cow haunted her. She no longer wanted to look out of
the bus (exposure to harsh reality- death)
